🎬 TRAILER

For over sixty years, Josefina Orlaineta worked more than forty jobs in Campeche, southern Mexico. Her son Anacarsis moved to Mexico City, where he discovered theatre and his identity as a gay man. And now the two are reunited. And, hence, Josefina has yet another job: performing on stage with her son. With plenty of humour, charm, and a healthy dose of wit, she recounts survival strategies and sales techniques; while Anacarsis simultaneously questions the European thing for documentary theatre while embodying it himself.

A captivating piece about class, precarious employment, and family.

Anacarsis Raamos is a playwright, stage designer, director and actor. He has studied theatre and sociology. His work investigates the relationship between social reality and its representation in the media, with a particular interest of how fiction is used un state, private and community contexts. With a good pinch of humour, his works highlight the narrative construction of reality and expose the biases involved in representation. In addition to stage projects, he coordinates different pedagogical initiatives and stage research.

On 17.5 at 14:00, there will be an Artist Talk with Anacarsis Ramos together with Jéssica Teixeira at the Festival Centre. The talk is broadcast live on Radio RaBe.
